Abstract :

One of the conservations places for banteng is Taman Safari Indonesia II. The monitoring of health of these mammals is important in order to support the effort of wild mammal animals. The purpose of  this  research  to  observation behaviour  and  to  know  correlation of body score  and helmintiasis cases on banteng. Behaviour and body score was done by observation. Helmintiasis examination was done  by  fecal  examination  in  order  to  find  the  type  of  helmint  in  their  fecal  at Taman Safari Indonesia II. Basically the identification is their eggs morphology. Fecal samples were collected from 18 Banteng, randomly. Banteng would be determined positive infection by helmint, if there was found helmint egg. Fecal samples were examined by native and  sedimentation methods. The result showed that 8 of 18 banteng which were checked by native and sedimentation methods identified, that were infected by trematoda and nematoda. The trematoda was Schistosoma bovis and the nematoda was Trichuris sp. Also showed correlatian between body score with helmint case in Taman Safari Indonesia II.
